Devotional

The woman described in Proverbs 31 is well-known by many, world over. Often seen as someone to look up to, her attributes and character are still admired and aspired to thousands of years after the book of Proverbs was written.

Consider: Who is this woman to you?

Maybe she is someone who you admire and seek to personify. Maybe you hear the words ‘Proverbs 31 woman’ and subconsciously roll your eyes. Please don’t switch off. We’re in this together. Whatever your preconceptions, we are believing for a revelation of the Truth over the next 31 days. We believe that as we delve deeper into this scripture over this next month, God will powerfully speak to us, reveal more of Himself to us and mould us into the women that He has called us to be.

Context: The vision for 2018

So what even is a Proverbs 31 woman? And why are we taking 31 days to explore this specific scripture? Late in 2017, God downloaded a powerful vision to our Senior Pastor, Heather Snowzell. A vision of what He wants to say to the women of Freedom Church and beyond throughout 2018. And yes, you guessed it, the scripture that God gave Heather was Proverbs 31.

We are so excited to go on this journey together. There is something special about the bond between women. From Worcester to Siem Reap and from Brugge to Chennai, we are going to spend the next 31 days journeying together as one family.

Over to you: What will you commit to during these 31 days?

Take some time to re-read Proverbs 31 again. Maybe even in a different translation. Ask God to begin speaking to you about what He wants to do in your life during the next 31 days.

What is God speaking to you personally? Which verses are striking a cord in your heart? What do you need to put to one side in order to delve in to all that God has planned for this next month?

We can’t wait to start this journey with you

Last Night POST I did Not Post

I am sitting on the bed, still sleepy, that is what opiates do to me and many others.

I checked all the mail and found myself falling to sleep at times. Thank God for my puppy that come now and then to wakes me up.

If I did not ave this patch of opiates I would not be able to walk.

The pain is to strong and I need it unfortunately.

I pray they will not take it away because of the opiate problem.

I am not taking it for fun but, I am sure after so long about 6 months on this particular medication I am hooked.

I Truly hope as I will go  to a second opinion Surgeon will find something to help and drop the opiate.

I tell you this because I need prayers for healing, PLEASE,

thank you

Love you all in Christ Jesus,

Later,

Pat.

Confidence in Jesus Leads to God’s Realm

John was, Jesus remarked, as great as any human being who ever lived. Yet, he still functioned from within the limited framework where God’s action, rule, or governance was primarily channeled through the official practices of Jewish rituals and institutions: through “the law and the prophets,” as that phrase was then used.

But since John, Jesus continued, we no longer “stand on proprieties.” “The Kingdom of the Heavens is subjected to violence and violent people take it by force” (Matt. 11:12). That is, the rule of God, now present in the person of Jesus himself, submits to approaches that were previously not possible. Personal need and confidence in Jesus permits any person to blunder right into God’s realm. And once in, they have an astonishing new status: “Those least in the Kingdom of the Heavens are greater than John.”
