Proverbs- Stepping Stones On The Path To Christlike Living Today. The Key To Happiness. (By Timothy Baugh.) March 16, 2019.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; (Have a steadfast faith and complete confidence in God with wholehearted devotion) and lean not unto thine own understanding. (and don’t rely on how well you think you know yourself.) In all thy ways acknowledge him, (Under every circumstance, in all situations put him first) and he will direct thy paths. (and he shall show you the way.) Be not wise in thine own eyes: (Don’t think you know what is best for you) fear the LORD, (respect and honor God) and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, (It shall be as a medicine to cure you from your appetites) and marrow (a watering or moistening of the life of your soul) to thy bones.” Proverbs 3:5-8. (with my own insights added.)    Understanding ourselves with all our attachments and weaknesses is thy real key to happiness in life. The holy and wise men of ages past said: “To thy own self be true.” This means to discover or realize what you truly are. It begins with a deep, honest estimate of our  human makeup; of that which constitutes our Life’s love. This is our central passion and directs all of our thoughts and actions. When with a clean and humble spirit we have a steadfast faith and complete faith in God; then with heart purity (wholehearted devotion) we shall as Jesus said “see God.” Firstly, we must in, and under every circumstance, in all situations put God’s way before our own ways. Only when we are able to say: “Not my will, but thine be done” shall we find true life open up for us as we surrender fully to his Divine Providence. Let us rest in the goodness of God despite all appearances! He will make a way!

What is the “Business of Living” anyway? (By Timothy Baugh.) March 15, 2019.

When I thought of this question; it held a certain profound, ‘underlying truth’ that we don’t choose to consciously consider. Our “business” is how we perceive Life is currently using us. Some people resent such a word as it implies that we have become totally self- focused and self- absorbed in living our daily lives.  I myself do, but then again don’t. Currently, my sense of aimlessness is slowly developing the courage to ‘move ahead’ and meet those gigantic challenges that face me.  The typical individual finds that, even in “retirement” you are planning out each moment as it comes. Not me! I am slowly, at 60, trying to find my ‘passion’ and ‘drive’. What is the “zeal for living” anyway? Jesus Christ, he alone is MY BUSINESS now. He is my “zeal for living”!  I’m not even quite sure I know what that means yet. But when I can publicly pray unashamed of my “religiosity”; then I have reached a milestone in my own journey of faith. When I can speak of my faith to anyone without offending them; then I have accomplished “the miraculous”, so to speak. Our everyday work is what we have allowed to define just who we are. It doesn’t have to earn us a livelihood. Yet, work ISN’T about “expressing” your reason for being! What is that? Are we “about our Father’s business”? Ah Ha! That, my friends, is WHY you are put here.   Everyday, if we even pray “the Lord’s Prayer”, we say, “Thy Will be done”. Do we actively pursue the Will of God for our lives?  I am trying now to discern ‘that much’ for myself. That is my work. How about you? Can you say the same? or, does even the very concept of “God” scare you into a hasty retreat? LIVE UNASHAMED! Don’t be cowardly, like I was, anymore! Prove your worth to all! These are my own “motivational speeches”, as spoken by the Spirit of Christ to me. They are your words too. Claim them, and move out into the world to win the victory that awaits you. Amen.

Happily Ever After. (A poem by Timothy Baugh.) March 15, 2019.

Happily ever after doesn’t mean that all is right. Our lives are like old pictures- seldom seen as black and white. When you find that ‘secret place’ deep inside your troubled soul. Then there is no great hardship that can veer you from your goal. For, at every new beginning, at every dawning day, there are angels bringing you hope along the way. So let us be forgiving, in all we do or say. Let us live the ‘Kingdom now’ for which we seek and pray.  Yes, the lens through which we see things depends upon our point of view. Embrace the Heavenly Light and everything will then be new. Despite the changing scenery, it is really up to you. For you are the Producer, and your own Director too! Jesus is writing out each Life Script; no matter what we may think. So let us all bring our lives into focus. And then the whole won’t stink!
