Another entry from the book, “How To Weave The Character Of Christ Into Our Lives.” The Role Of Satan In Our Lives. By Timothy Baugh. March 19, 2019.

“Discretion shall preserve thee, (Exercising caution shall save you) understanding shall keep thee: (having insight shall keep you safe) To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, (Satan, the Tempter and Deceiver) from the man that speaks froward (perverse) things; Who leave(s) the paths of righteousness, to walk in the ways of darkness.” Proverbs 2:11-13. (With my own insights added).   Even Jesus Christ had His Satan- His personal tempter and deceiver. The role of Satan is a complex one. He tempts, tests, and lies to us. The purpose oftentimes is to prove us- Our faithfulness to God or others, our integrity, our inner strength of self-control, and our love to God. Obedience depends on our ever vigilant watch over our senses and living our lives within His Spirit and His grace. Let us watch and pray!       Prayer- Lord Jesus, help me whenever my Ego lifts his head to refocus my vision to see only You. May I resist and take my stand against Evil wherever or whenever it may appear. May I come daily to sit and learn, humbly, at your feet. My faith won’t be shaken when I’m standing in Your Love. Keep me in silence within Your presence so that my heart will hear your words. If I must speak, then let it be to uplift and encourage others by your words, not mine. Amen.
