Matthew 5:9-12. (with my own insights added.) Verse 9. Blessed are the peacemakers. (inwardly rewarded are they who act with clean hearts of love towards others. With no ill will or hidden malice, but only in peace.) For they shall be called the Children of God. (they are the ones who are called “Beloved”.) 10. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake. (inwardly rewarded are they that are beginning, despite all opposition, to surrender their self-will; thus becoming submissive and humble in living according to the Will of God and His Light rather than ‘giving in’ to temptation, to compromise their values.) For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. (for theirs is the rule and reign of God in their lives.) 11. Blessed are ye when men shall revile (make fun of, mock, or ridicule) you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. (inwardly rewarded are you that are honest toward Christ, relying on your faith inwardly to stand persecution and temptations. This is where you soul rests secure in Christ as the awareness of His presence dawns in your consciousness.) 12. Rejoice, (give thanks ‘spiritually’) and be exceeding glad: (take great joy in coming out of your self or your Ego- driven desires.) for so persecuted they (the adversaries of goodness) the prophets (those who spoke the Truth of God) before you. (before you have come to realize it).
