“I am come in my Father’s name, (with the full backing and support of my God) and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, (he “shall” and “has” already!) him (the Impostor) ye (the Jewish people) will receive.” John 5:43. (with my own insights added.) Many a believer in Jesus as the Messiah still await His immanent return. We, as Christians, believe that “nothing secret” could possibly herald the Return of Christ. His Return must, according to His own words, be “visible” and “evident”. ‘This much’ we can debate, but Jesus Himself doesn’t even know! All we can believe is that it is said to happen. Here are my soul-searching questions Jesus ‘might’ ask if He came “unannounced”. 1. “Who do you believe I truly am?” Yes, He asked that question already, didn’t He? 2. “What do you believe was the real reason I came the ‘First Time’?” The Jewish people couldn’t and wouldn’t accept the concept of a human, blood atonement sacrifice. 3. “Which God are you actually worshipping?” Same problem, different times. 4. “Where do you believe your life will go after you have died?” The “eternal” question to which only He knows the answer. 5. “When will you stop all of this unnecessary stress?” Jesus had the simple solution over two thousand years ago. Did we receive it then? 6. “Why have you destroyed my Father’s Creation?” I wouldn’t want to have to answer that one! And, 7. “How can I help you, if you continue to refuse my help?” Gulp! Prayer Our Lord Jesus, we most earnestly desire Your Return. And yet, we are not prepared, or ready to have that awesome encounter. Get us ready, though we may never be prepared. Awaken Your Church to the reality of Your soon arrival once again! Come quickly, Lord Jesus. Amen.
