WEEK 6 – THE FRUIT OF WISDOM
SOAP – Proverbs 2:7
There are many benefits to walking in wisdom. Those who diligently seek wisdom are shielded with God’s protection, receive great discernment for living, and are able to avoid the consequences of evil.
In what circumstances are you hesitant or resistant to follow the wisdom found in God’s Word? When we deliberately disregard the wisdom of God, we risk facing the same earthly consequences as the ungodly.
Father God, I thank You for Your faithfulness. I ask not only for Your wisdom, but for the willingness to obey. Lord, give me a heart that always desires to obey Your Word. Help me to stay on the narrow and straight path no matter how difficult. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
SOAP – Proverbs 3:27
Believers are warned to avoid withholding or delaying good towards anyone, especially if we owe it and have it to give. This not only includes the payment of our debts but also the selfless giving of love, kindness, and mercy. Christians are called to do good unto all people if we have the opportunity.
Where does selfishness reveal itself in your life? Whether it is our time, our spiritual gifts, our love, or our money, believers should strive to give in abundance. God did not withhold the good of salvation from His people, even when we deserved death, therefore we should strive to follow His example.
Father God, I thank You for Your selfless sacrifice on my behalf. Lord, help me to be generous with my time, charitable with my gifts, and unselfish with my money. Let all that I do and all that I give bring You honor and praise. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
