Make Time to Pray – Beloved Women – March 26, 2020
READ: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (I Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: If we could see what happens when we pray, we would never cease to pray. The miracles that God is working on our behalf are in motion when we pray. Our strength for trials increases when we pray.
Our prayer journey can sometimes be a struggle because we have so many things competing for our time. Sometimes, prayer can get easily crowded out by life.
Today’s verse tells us it is God’s will for us to pray without ceasing. So, we must guard our time and our prayer lives daily. We all have a desire to pray and spend time with God, but how do we do that in such a busy world? Here are a few ways.
Make an appointment with God for prayer and keep it.
Prioritize the small things against the big things in your life.
Rearrange your schedule so that you are not crowding out prayer time.
Finally, just slowing down and putting prayer first.
Remember—just breathe, sit, and pray. God will do the rest for this is His will for you.
PRAY: Lord, help me today to come and be with You in full attention and surrender. Help me to honor my time with You by being fully present and enjoying Your wonder and amazement in prayer. Help me make room for You every day and to hear Your heart. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT: How can you make room in your life today to be with God to listen to his heart?
SHARE: Take time to really focus on what is necessary.
