God Owns It All
In 1 Samuel 25, David and his men needed food. David’s men had been protecting the sheep of a wealthy Jew named Nabal. Therefore, David sent them to ask Nabal for food.
In verse 11, Nabal said, “Shall I take my bread and my water and my meat that I have killed for my shearers and give it to men who come from I do not know where?”
Nabal’s pride of ownership stifled his willingness to share or be generous to others. Nabal learned the hard way that his sheep and land were God’s on loan to him.
Nabal’s selfishness resulted in him being immediately punished by God.
As God gives you favor and allows you to steward more assets, don’t forget – God owns it all. Be gracious and generous.
