Signs of the Times
God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying, “LORD, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life”?
Has God cast away His people? Paul answered this question plainly–– unequivocally, “No possible way! God loves Israel.” God had a meaningful relationship with Israel, and His faithfulness to them is evident. God’s relationship with Israel is seen throughout the Scriptures. Paul referenced 1 Kings 19:10, 14. This is when Elijah felt alone in his worship of God, but God had His remnant. It is seen in what Elijah and Moses have written.
It is really important to understand, God established Laws in the first five books of Moses. They were given to the people of God so they would set themselves apart to serve God in their worship, prayers and reading of His Law. Israel was to be an example of salt and light to the unsaved world, but they failed.
As Israel rejected God, through His grace and mercy, salvation was extended to the Gentiles. We have been given salvation, and we have been grafted into Israel––amazing. The Church has only been in existence for 1900 years. The next expected prophetic event to take place is the Rapture of the Church (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
I am so glad that God is still speaking to the Church. Once the Church is taken out of this world, the Lord will say to Israel, “I am coming after you now; you are going to be My people. I have died for your sins.” In response, the Jews will be amazed (Ezekiel 39:29; Zechariah 13:6).
As a Christian, it is important to enjoy a meaningful, close relationship with Jesus Christ. You have to ask yourself, especially because of what is happening in the world today, “Is it time for Jesus to take us home?” It is possible that we are close to the last seven years of world history. Jesus told His disciples about His Second Coming: “But of that day and hour no one knows… but My Father only” (Matthew 24:36).
The world and you must part, or Christ and you will never meet.
