Women’s Devotional Bible

2 Corinthians 5:14–15

What drove Paul to continue in ministry through trials and tribulations? Was he motivated by the number of churches he planted? By the praise of people? By the hope of material gain? None of these selfish factors motivated the apostle Paul. He made it clear that what compelled him was Christ’s love alone.

Do you keep a mental record of people you’ve helped? Do you long for people’s praise? Do you hope for recognition or material rewards? These are indications that you’re driven by selfish motives. But if Christ’s love is compelling you, you won’t live for yourself—you’ll live for him.
