The Depths of Wisdom
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?” “Or who has first given to Him and it shall be repaid to him?” For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
Paul thought about God’s plan of redemption. It was so amazing! He cried out: Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! How beautiful! God has unsearchable judgments and ways. Often, we cannot understand the judgment of God. Satan has always challenged the government of God; yet God can do whatever He wants to do. We have seen the evidence in all the ways He has dealt with the nation of Israel, as well as in our own lives.
Paul does this so well, he quoted Scriptures from Isaiah 40:13: Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, or as His counselor has taught Him? Jeremiah 23:18: For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD, and has perceived and heard His word? Who has marked His word and heard it? and Job 36:22: “Behold, God is exalted by His power; who teaches like Him?” Nobody knows the mind of the Lord! The next time you think you can be God’s counselor, underline and place stars next to Romans 11:34. You are not God! There are so many people who want to be God, when they are not.
Have you ever thought you can sit God down and give Him counsel? No way! God is so infinite––so incredible. Place Jesus’s name in the last verse: For of [Jesus] and through [Jesus] and to [Jesus] are all things, to whom be glory forever. Understand, we are who we are today because of Jesus Christ––period. God, thank you for the work you have done in our hearts!
What a world this would be if God sat on a throne of justice only, and if no mercy were ever to be shown to men!
