Matthew 6: 9-13

In Matthew 6: 9-13 Jesus said

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Your kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so also on earth. 11 Give us our daily bread today. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors . 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

It is interesting to note that Jesus did not say anything about the posture to pray. That means any posture is appropriate. There is no posture that God finds more spiritual than another. We tend to think that there is, but the reality of things is that we are not going to impress God by praying in a certain position.

Another very interesting fact is that Jesus did not say anything about the place to pray. That means that any place is correct. There is no place that God finds more spiritual than another.

Likewise, Jesus said nothing about punctuality to pray. It doesn’t even mention a time limit. And most importantly, Jesus didn’t say anything about repeating the prayer.

As you can see, prayer has nothing to do with religious rites. God is interested in your heart. So don’t worry about posture, location, or punctuality. You simply choose the place, time and position and God will be delighted to hear what is in your heart.
