Lea Romans 1
In today’s reading:
Paul’s desire to visit the believers in Rome; Jews and Gentiles are all under condemnation; we are justified through faith
S Atanas and all unbelievers will be thrown into the eternal “lake of fire” (Revelation 20: 10,13,15). However, “the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all impiety and injustice of men who hold the truth with injustice. . . God manifested it to him. . . . (So) they have no excuse. For having known God, they did not glorify him as God, nor give thanks to him. . . and his foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into the imagelike image of corruptible man. . . For this reason God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, so that they dishonored their own bodies “ (Romans 1: 18-27).
Three times we read that God “gave them over to uncleanness”, to their “shameful passions”, and to a “reprobate mind” (1: 24,26,28). There are people who see sex as nothing more than a physical appetite to be satisfied. But Christ has told us: “But the cowards and disbelievers, the abominable and murderers, the fornicators and sorcerers, the idolaters and all liars will have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” ( Revelation 21: 8). Sexual relationship is a gift from God that brings satisfaction that lasts and fills us only when it is within the marital relationship of a man with a woman.
For most of the world there is a great ignorance of the Bible that worries us because it is still growing, because the Bible is the only Book that reveals sin as it is – a rebellion against God. God only has the right to establish the standards of justice.
There is also a great neglect in the church that continues to grow in using the Sabbath and the Lord’s tithes for self-centered pleasures. Doing such things usually leads us to accept excuses for sin and removes all feelings of guilt.
There is no victory over sexual perversion until it is seen for what it truly is, not a disease or an alternative lifestyle, but a sin. The good news tells us: “But now we are free from the Law, having died to that to which we were subject, so that we serve under the new regime of the Spirit and not under the old regime of the letter” (Romans 7: 6 ).
Thought for today:God wants to take care of our lives. We are going to trust Him.
