Exodus 14

The Lord parts the Red Sea for the children of Israel.

INSIGHT

When we are obedient to God, nothing can touch us that does not come from God Himself. The armies of Egypt, symbolic of the armies of Satan, are no match for a God jealous to care for His beloved people. Resting in God’s full protection in spiritual warfare, we may put on His full armor and stand firm, knowing that we will triumph in Him.

PRAYER

· Offer this psalm of praise to our forgiving God:

The Lord is righteous in all His ways,
Gracious in all His works,
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and save them.
My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord;
And all flesh shall bless His holy name
Forever and ever
(Psalms 145:17-19).

· Now pray this confession to the Lord to keep your life free from sin and in fellowship with Him:

Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord;
Lord, hear my voice!
Let Your ears be attentive
To the voice of my supplications.
If You, Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with You,
That You may be feared
(Psalms 130:1-4).

· Voice your affirmation of God’s Word:

Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the Lord
(Psalms 31:24).

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous;
And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!
(Psalms 32:11).

· As you make your requests known to the Lord, pray for:
· greater commitment to the Lord,
· the hungry around the world,
· your prayer list.

· Now offer this prayer of worship to the Lord:

The Lord will command His
lovingkindness in the daytime,
And in the night His song shall be with me-
A prayer to the God of my life
(Psalms 42:8).

How You Can Inspire Confidence from Others – Powerpoint – February 8

How You Can Inspire Confidence from Others

February 8

Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper,
            but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

Proverbs 28:13

A young man was coming home late one night, well after his midnight curfew. He didn’t pull into his driveway until almost 2 in the morning. So he took his shoes off, opened the door quietly, and slipped up the stairs as softly as he could.

He had almost made it to the top of the stairs when, all of a sudden, his parents’ cuckoo clock struck 2, “Cuckoo, cuckoo.” He heard his parents stirring in their room, and had the boldest idea he’d ever had. He stood there on the stairs and cuckoo-ed 10 more times!

Now that’s creative, but it’s not telling the truth. In fact, one very neglected aspect of telling the truth is admitting when you’ve made a mistake, rather than covering it up. Confessing when you’re in the wrong is difficult, especially when a little lie like “my dog ate my homework” or “I put those reports on your desk” can pass the blame to someone else.

But when you mess up and confess it, you not only have the reward of a clear conscience, you build rapport as an honest person among those around you. And, most importantly, you glorify God through your obedience. So admit your mistakes and show others they can trust you to be truthful!

INSPIRE CONFIDENCE FROM OTHERS BY ADMITTING YOUR SHORTCOMINGS AND SHOWING OTHERS YOU CAN BE TRUSTED TO BE TRUTHFUL.

Can You Believe the Bible? – Love Worth Finding – February 8

Can You Believe the Bible?

FEBRUARY 8

“Forever, O Lord, Your Word is settled in heaven.” Psalm 119:89

Isn’t that a beautiful verse? You know, the Bible is not the book of the year; it is the book of the ages. It is settled in heaven and on Earth. We can depend upon the Word of God. It’s not up for a vote. But it does have its enemies.

The liberal will try to water it down, the atheist will deny it, and the cultist will twist it. But I believe the greatest enemy of the Bible today is the Christian who does not love it, memorize it, practice it, and obey it. If we would do that, we would be witnessing and winning those who disbelieve.

It is absolutely imperative that you are certain about the Bible. You’ll never get much of anything else settled until you get that settled.

  • Your salvation depends upon it because the Bible says “you are born again by the Word of God” (1 Peter 1:23).
  • Your sanctification depends upon it. Jesus said, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your Word is truth” (John 17:17).
  •  Your usefulness depends on it.God gives you His word so you can “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).
  • Your assurance depends upon it. “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:13).

If you want your life to be an exclamation point rather than a question mark, then you need to be certain the Bible is the Word of God.

The Earth, Before the Sun

The Earth, Before the Sun

Genesis 1: 1-2
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters. “

Although there are those who believe that it is possible to harmonize the Theory of Evolution with the Genesis account, there are serious problems in trying to do so. One of those problems, which occurs frequently, is that the order of events required by the Theories of Evolution or deep time are different from that found in Genesis 1.

An example of Stellar Evolution would be that the Sun formed before Earth. The Sun is believed to be the product of repeated coagulations of material in the Universe, followed by nuclear fusion and, finally, Novas explosion. Deep-time astrophysicists suggest that Earth was formed by gravity and eventually brought many small particles together into a planet-sized conglomerate.

The Bible gives us a different order. It says that the Earth was created on the first day of Creation Week, along with material from the rest of the Universe and light. I mean the material of the rest of the Universe because the Earth was created amorphous and empty. God began to give structure to this Earth on the second and third days of Creation Week. However, he does not create the Sun, Moon and stars until the fourth day.

In the same way, strict evolutionists see this disconnect correctly, but use it to argue that the biblical account is wrong. We trust that God has told us the truth in His Word. The order of God’s Creation is at heart a major problem, The Authority of the Bible.

Prayer: Lord thank you for Your Word, which is true from the first verse to the end. Help us to trust Your Word in everything. Amen.
