“So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed” John 8:36(NASU)
The beginning of freedom is the acceptance of Christ as your Lord and Savior. This is in conformity with Jesus’ primary assignment on earth ‘to save and set free those ones who put their trust in Him.’
God raised Him up as a mighty and valiant Man for our salvation. Anyone He sets free, will completely be free “that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins” Matt. 9:6
There is no one else under heaven by whom we may be saved other than Christ Jesus. He is the only One who is well qualified, positioned and willing to be the Savior of the world. He is holy, innocent and faultless, and not like us who were conceived, born and lived in sin. The blood of His sacrifice was pure, flawless and found worthy before God which He offered once for all which also is the blood of our ransom from condemnation and death. He saves everyone who comes to God through Him.
We were bought with a price out of captivity to live in freedom. The price of our release is the precious blood of Christ. Therefore no one having been bought lives for himself. We have an obligation to live for Him who died for us. This will also ensure that we continue to live a free life rather than become slaves again to sin and entangle ourselves in the bondage of the devil.(1 Cor. 7:22,23)
Having been rescued from the hand of our foes, let us draw closer to God, to live in His presence all the days of our lives. To serve Him fearlessly in holiness and righteousness. In Him is a life that is as a glowing light for all men to see.
“In the past, this mystery(about Christ) was not known by people as it is now. The Spirit has revealed it to His Holy apostles and prophets” Eph 3:5(GOD‘S WORD)
God‘s nature is encased in Himself and hidden from the wise and the learned. It can only be revealed to the simple at heart through His Holy Spirit. Its only by the help of the Spirit of Christ in us that we received the good news of the Gospel and those who preached to us did so themselves by the power of the Holy Sprit(1 Peter 1:10–12)
If you desire to have a profound knowledge of God in a personal way and without bounds, to understand who He is and the richness of His glory, then you need the Holy Spirit revelation of Him. It is therefore extremely important that we become mature Christians to that level of knowing God intimately to develop a strong desire for His presence. For that, we need to cultivate and nurture our own salvation “with awe and trembling (self–distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ)” Phil 2:12(AMP)
Our pastors and other spiritual mentors can only lead us to Christ and from time to time we may receive from them the counsel that will help us in our Christian walk. It is then up to us to put into practice the Gospel message we have heard and received which in turn will deepen our understanding of the things of God and ultimately will attract His presence to us and enhance our relationship and fellowship with Him. In His presence is the revealing of the path of life and it is full with the sufficiency of joy.(Psalm 16:11).
Everything we need in life is in God and it can be accessed fully when we are complete in Him and filled up with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a sign of the seal we have received as children of God.(Eph 4:30). When we hear His voice and follow His lead, it will help us to live our lives in the perfect will of God.
Remember that the Holy Spirit is who every Christian should desire to be filled with and ought to earnestly ask God for. He represents Christ here on the earth and act on His behalf as our Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate etc. Jesus said that He will teach us all things(John 14:26). When you receive Him, He will remain in you and you would not need that any other person teaches you anything because He is capable of teaching you everything that will make you a perfect, confident and bold Christian.(1 John 2:27,28)
“My grace is sufficient for you,
For My strength is made perfect in weakness” 2 Cor. 12:9(NKJV)
LORD I pray that You give me the courage not to be overwhelmed by the size of my weaknesses. Do not withhold from me the strength to help me steer away from thoughts that makes me moody because of my shortcomings.
May I received the grace to focus on who You are – the All–sufficient God, and the peace that comes from being restful in You as my Upholder
You alone O God is my Salvation, my Rock and my Fortress. In You the Almighty I will never be shaken because I have put my trust in You.
Your faithfulness is as a shield to me, and I have made Your word the meditation of my heart and it has turned out to be a companion that gives me boldness
You have said to me again and again: Fear not for I am with you,
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you.
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.(Isaiah 41:10)
Most effectively, the strength and power of Christ rests upon me in my weaknesses, “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ‘s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Cor 12:10
