“Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.” Ephesians 4:29
I am a writer, but I am at a loss for words. Pat, the owner of this wonderful, God-honoring site reached out to me, a perfect stranger, and asked if I would guest-write on “From The Darkness Into The Light”. I feel so blessed by her request, and I pray that our collaboration will bring glory to God and that His Kingdom of Light will be advanced in some small way by our efforts. Thank you Pat, from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity!
The verse above is very special to me. It is the standard I strive to meet when I write. I want to encourage each of you who have been called by God to write, speak, teach, or preach: Lift up the high standard of Jesus, which is, to share His grace with the world.
There is great power in words. With great power there comes great responsibility. Our words enter into the souls of others and cause change; change for good or change for evil. Think, for just a moment, on the magnitude of that! More destruction has been wielded upon the souls of people through words than through any earthly weapon. That is because words are a spiritual force.
I think you can agree with me, that those of us who pick up the pen, or type on a keyboard, or preach from a pulpit, in the name of Jesus, have an awesome responsibility to reflect His Love, His Grace and His Truth to a lost and hurting world. We also have the high calling of encouraging and edifying our fellow Believers as we walk through this broken world together.
Though I have never met you personally, my fellow writers, who are called to serve Jesus with words, I would like to commit myself to praying for you daily; that God would be glorified by your words and that what you write or speak would be a true reflection of His love. Would you do that for me, as well? Thank you!
I look forward to sharing on this site in the future and also look forward to reading the gracious words of my fellow writers!
His Blessings, Ron Bouchard
