A New Creation.

“So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old is passed away; look, what is new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Are you in Christ, my friend? Have you been made new? Think, just for a moment, what it would be like to be a completely new person. Think about the possibility of walking away from your old life and starting fresh, with the old baggage dead and gone, buried in a grave. Wouldn’t that be wonderful, if it were possible? God has made a way for it to be so. God has fashioned a deliverance for you, from your old life that is slowly crushing you, into a New Life waiting to be appropriated and lived!

” And all these things are from God who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:18

Yes, this is God’s free gift to you. Freedom. Freedom from darkness, from sin, from shame and from guilt. No matter what you have done, God desires to be reconciled with you; and for you to be free to live the life you were truly created for. Bound in chains no more, the prison door opened wide; just like a calf let out of the stall, skipping and leaping and playing! This is your possibility . . .

The perfect gift. The most costly gift ever given. Jesus’ very life offered for you . . . Will you receive it today?

‘In other words, in Jesus Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s trespasses against them, and He has given us the message of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:19

This is how we serve God, by offering His free Gift of Salvation to others, because we, ourselves have received it. Instead of offering people the things from our old life; angst, criticism, judgement, anger, bitterness, hatred, pride, etc.; we offer them the newness of Life that we have been given.

“Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His plea through us. We plead with you on Christ’s behalf, ‘Be reconciled to God!’ “ 2 Corinthians 5:20

What Good News it is to know this:

“God made the one who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 2:21

And, let me just say this: For any of my brothers and sisters in Jesus, who have gone back and dug up that grave where the old things are buried, I want you to know that your wandering back to the old things is forgiven as well. You can begin your walk with God anew. Take a moment and go again to the grave of the old things, put them were they belong and move on, celebrating your freedom in Jesus Christ!

“For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm and do not be subject again to the yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1

“. . . You are not your own, for you were bought with a price . . .” 1 Corinthians 6:19,20

When my ‘natural man’ (the flesh) tries to process the thought of being purchased, it says to itself: “Wow, I’ve been made a slave! I’ve been bought. I’m someone else’s possession!” The trail that line of thinking jogs down is a negative, descending one. You see, my ‘natural man’ is not the sharpest crayon in the box. Quite dull actually. “Dumb as a box of rocks!” is the expression that fits him perfectly. He finds it impossible to understand the things of God. He is very clever though. Clever enough to continually attempt to thwart my spirit from walking in freedom; freedom from the flesh, freedom from sin, freedom from self.

Cleverness never carries with it, a shred of wisdom, because cleverness is always self-serving. And so, this flesh man of mine is a constant headache; trying to convince me to put the chains back on, to wear the yoke once again.

You see, what he doesn’t get, what he will never get, is that he is a slave as well as the slave owner. He owned me at one time. But, I was bought with a price, a price so great I could never pay it. A price so inestimable that no other person could afford to pay it for me. Only God had the kind of wealth to buy back my soul. He poured His glory out on the ground for me and for you. He gave everything. He held nothing back, in order that we could be free.

Yes. He purchased us to set us free from the slavery to sin and self. He bought us to loose our chains, to remove our yoke and give us true liberty. My ‘flesh man’ can’t get that through his thick skull! He can’t comprehend the depths of his depravity. He actually believes fulfilling his desires is freedom; not the cruel bondage that it is.

Yes. I have been set free. I’m free from me! I’m no longer mine. I’ve been bought with a price and set free like a bird from a cage or a calf from a stall! Have you been set free, my friend? Jesus paid the price to open your prison door, but you must choose to step out.

“For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be subject to a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1

“But for you who respect my name, the sun of vindication will rise with healing wings, and you will skip about like calves released from the stall.” Malachi 4:2
